Terms of service

Welcome to The Cozy Loaf Bakery. By using our website and placing an order with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully before completing a purchase.

1. Cottage Food Law Compliance

All products sold through this website are baked in a private home kitchen. In accordance with Nebraska Cottage Food Laws, these products are not regulated or inspected by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept that these goods are produced in a home environment.

2. Allergen Advisory

We offer both traditional wheat flour baked goods and gluten-friendly options. However, please be advised that all of our products are prepared, baked, and packaged in the same home facility. While we practice strict cleaning and cross-contamination prevention protocols, we use shared equipment. We cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment. If you have a severe, life-threatening allergy to wheat, gluten, nuts, dairy, or other common allergens, our products may not be safe for you to consume.

3. Ordering, Processing, and Cutoff Times

Because our artisan sourdough loaves and scratch-made baked goods require meticulous fermentation, proofing, and preparation schedules:

  • All orders must be placed before our designated weekly cutoff times listed on the storefront.
  • We reserve the right to decline or cancel any orders placed after the cutoff window has closed to ensure the quality and scheduling of our bakes.

4. Pricing and Inventory Typographical Errors

We strive for complete accuracy on our storefront. However, in the event that a product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price (such as $0.00) or with incorrect inventory details, we reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or refund any orders placed for that product. We are under no obligation to fulfill an order based on an obvious typographical or software error.

5. Local Pickup & Order Abandonment

We operate exclusively via local scheduled pickup and designated vendor markets. We do not ship our perishable food items.

  • Your Responsibility: It is your responsibility to collect your order during the specific pickup window selected at checkout.
  • Abandoned Orders: Because our food is baked fresh and is highly perishable, any orders not collected by the end of the designated pickup window will be considered abandoned.
  • No Refunds for Missed Pickups: Abandoned orders will not be eligible for refunds, store credits, or next-week replacements, as the ingredients and time have already been fully utilized for your custom bake.

6. Modifications to Service and Menu

We reserve the right to modify our weekly baking menu, change product pricing, or pause ordering availability at any time without prior notice to accommodate seasonal ingredients, market schedules, or production capacity.

Thank you for respecting our small-batch baking process and supporting our local bakery!
